Quantimon is joining Hummingbird
I'm excited to share that Quantimon has been acquired by Hummingbird, the leading platform for AI-powered financial crime compliance. Our team will continue the important work that we started here and, as part of Hummingbird, pave the way for what AML transaction monitoring looks like in the agentic era.
We started Quantimon after years of building risk and compliance systems at Apple, Xoom, and PayPal. We kept hitting the same wall. Rules-based monitoring produces far more alerts than any team can work, and most turn out to be noise. So we built machine learning models that learn from alert decisions and get sharper over time. And we built a federated network so institutions could benefit from each other's signal without ever sharing customer data.
The part we couldn't build on our own was the other half of the loop. Models only improve if they can see what happened after an alert fired: whether it was closed, escalated, or filed on, and why. Those decisions live in a different system, somewhere hard for our models to reach.
When I met the Hummingbird team and their CEO Joe Robinson, it was clear this was the right home for Quantimon. Hummingbird customers already run monitoring and investigations in one place, with AI agents and analysts producing structured alert data – exactly the foundation our models need. Together, our combined solution makes AML transaction monitoring meaningfully better, with every alert that a team resolves feeding back into detection.
To our customers, investors, and team, thank you for tackling this challenging problem with us. We're excited to see our work reach even more financial institutions as part of the Hummingbird platform.
Here’s to the next chapter.
